10-MINUTE MASTERPIECE: Masking + 5 Photoshop tools to make your images pop.

NEXT SESSION 2008 | 1 MORNING SESSION - TBD

Did you know that learning masking, and knowing how to properly use just 5 tools in Photoshop, will let you improve your images 100% in 10 minutes or less?

Have you ever opened an image on the computer and after thoughtful consideration decided that it’s perfect and needs no work in Photoshop? No? Me either. Don’t have the time to spend hours finishing an image (or 100 images) to your satisfaction, but can’t just let it remain as you shot it without doing ‘just a little’ work? Me either. Wish you didn’t get your creative wind at 11pm and end up working at the computer until 3am? You’re not alone.

A common complaint from new digital photographers is that they spend all their time in front of the computer. Digital photography has forced each of us to look more closely at our photographs - when was the last time you looked at your film at 100%? - and to tackle the digital darkroom, whether we’re prepared or not. We’ve taken on the jobs of a dozen trained professionals (the LAB) from processing our images and making contact sheets to retouching and the preparation and output of exhibition-grade prints. Want to spend less time and do better work? How does 10 minutes per image sound?

In just four hours, this workshop shows you how to analyze and improve your images in 10-minutes using MASKING (yes, it's finally time to learn this exciting, essential and creative part of Photoshop) and just 5 tools in Photoshop - and learn more about what makes an image work. Make significant improvements to your photographs in just 10 minutes using the tools that the pros reach for first. Learn a workflow within Photoshop that brings efficiency and consistency to your digital darkroom. Includes information about the importance of RAW capture in the digital workflow.

CAUTION: Although this is a basic level class, it is NOT about clicking an AUTO button. There is no universal remote to change your images into art. This is about learning the fundamentals of selective enhancements in Photoshop, and changing the way you make, and finish, your images.

NOTE: This workshop features Adobe Photoshop CS3, Adobe Camera RAW and Bridge.
