| LOST IN TRANSITION: A Guide to the Digital Process for Traditional Photographers | ||
| NEXT SESSION 2008 | 4 WEEKS 1 NIGHT PER WEEK - TBD Many photographers, although excited by the possibilities of digital cameras and the "digital darkroom", are intimidated by the prospect of learning to work digitally. This course examines the components of digital imaging in terms that relate to traditional photography to give photographers a practical foundation for making an informed transition to digital. It introduces the concept of DIGITAL WORKFLOW as a step-by-step process that will reduce frustration and enhance your ability to realize your vision using digital imaging. Emphasis is on de-mystifying the digital environment by relating it to the already-familiar traditional photography experience. In four sessions, we will discuss and demonstrate cameras, megapixels and computers; camera settings and file formats; downloading and managing images; the advantages of shooting and "processing" RAW files. Learn how to organize and manage your images using Adobe Photoshop CS3's Bridge. See demonstrations of the creative potential of the Photoshop "daylight darkroom"- basic and advanced Photoshop techniques for creative image enhancement including color-correction, retouching, compositing and conversion to B&W. |
